JUNIOR HENRY

ABOUT ME

My counselling journey began in 2009, after 13 years working in the construction sector. Following the breakdown of a significant relationship, I entered long-term psychodynamic therapy myself. I went in looking for answers about what had gone wrong. What I found was something deeper — a better understanding of myself, my relationships, and the patterns shaping how I responded to life and how others responded to me.

That experience led me to retrain as a psychotherapist. I qualified in 2014 as an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and have since worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Sometimes there's a specific emotional difficulty. Other times, life or a relationship no longer feels as it once did — or there's simply a sense that something needs to change.

I work with individuals and couples on:

Relationship difficulties, communication, and conflict

Separation and life transitions

Emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, and personal growth

Understanding themselves more deeply, so they can recognise patterns shaping their choices and relationships

My background outside counselling still shapes how I work. Years in the construction sector taught me that there's rarely a single solution to a problem — and I believe the same is true in therapy. There's no standard version of a person, so there shouldn't be a standard version of therapy either.

My focus is on getting to the root of the problem, not just managing the symptoms. It's common to understand what you'd like to change, yet still find yourself responding in the same old ways. Therapy helps uncover why that happens — what's really driving those patterns — so you can start responding differently.

My role isn't to tell you how to live your life — it's to work alongside you: to understand where you are, what has brought you to counselling, and what you'd like to be different.

We prioritise our clients' therapy experience by offering modern, welcoming, and clean counselling rooms that are easy to locate.
